Kintamani Tour

Our Kintamani Tour is a must for those wishing to see more of Balinese life. We begin with a scenic drive 1000 meters up the side of mount Agung, the highest volcano in Bali at 3142 meters, to reach Besakih, the Mother Temple of Bali, an extensive complex with dozens of sacred sites. During its frequent festivals, crowds of finely dressed devotees present beautiful offerings against a panorama of the mountain above and the landscape below.

Our next stop is the huge crater of mount Batur with an active volcano and the large lake Batur inside, a truly amazing and breathtaking view. The village of Kintamani hugs the crater rim with the stately Ulun Danu Batur temple dedicated to the goddess of the lake, Dewi Danu.

After Kintamani our tour continues to a family-owned land plantation that grows cacao, coffee, and all kinds of herbs. Among its large selection of coffees is the famous Kopi Luwak coffee made from coffee beans swallowed by the Luwak or Asian palm civet cat. The soft outer coating is digested, but the hard beans pass through the animal and are collected, hygienically cleaned, roasted, and ground to make one of the most exclusive and expensive coffees in the world. Do not miss the opportunity to taste this very special brew before returning to Tanah Merah Art Resort for a well-deserved rest.
